About Us

Improving productivity, efficiency and safety for all.

At Site Oppo our primary aim is to improve health and safety in the construction industry.

The construction industry consistently experiences the most workplace deaths per year in the UK.

In 2022/23 45 people lost their lives on construction sites. Being crushed by a moving vehicle is the third highest cause of death in the workplace.

Things are about to change..

Site Oppo is an app which has been developed for use in the construction industry.  The main feature of the app is to streamline the process of requesting materials on construction sites. This increases productivity and efficiency and most importantly, improves health and safety. The app is also a virtual assistant for the site management team, providing a way for trades to easily access site documents and drawings. This frees up management's time for more important matters.

How it works...

These are the simple steps required for operatives to request materials...

Provide operatives with the relevant site specific code during their site induction,  they will use this to request access to the site profile.

Create profile

Once access has been granted, operatives will create their user profile which includes their trade and contact details.

Create a Task

Operatives are now able to create a task which will instantly be sent to the site telehandler operators to complete.

Confirmation

Users will receive confirmation that the task has been created and are free to carry on with production and will receive a notification when the task is complete.

Telehandler's current task

The site telehandler has accepted the current task and this task is now in progress. Upon completion the operator can mark the task as "complete", "skip" the task and it will return to their "upcoming tasks" or "cancel" the task if the request cannot be completed. The requester will receive a notification once the task is complete.

Upcoming Tasks

The telehandler operator can view their upcoming tasks at any time. Tasks are listed in chronological order but the telehandler can prioritise tasks if required.

Main Benefits...

How long have you got?

  • IMPROVE TIME MANAGEMENT - Hundreds of man hours a day get wasted on site by trades either searching for the forklift or waiting for them to pass by their plot. On large sites finding the forklift is like searching for a needle in a haystack. You could walk one way and they could drive the other, which can be very frustrating. With OPPO there’s no more searching! Simply request the materials you require and this will instantly be sent to the site’s telehandlers to complete, leaving you to carry on production and saving hundreds of man hours a day.

  • ERADICATE ERRORS - Every day hundreds of material requests can either be delivered to the incorrect plot, delivered out of site without you knowing or the request can be forgotten altogether 😮 At busy periods the forklift driver could have a list of up to 20 tasks to complete... that’s 20 items, 20 plot numbers, 20 people, all that the driver must be remember in their head, not to mention remember who asked first. OPPO removes any of these problems. It stores all of the requested tasks chronologically but also gives the driver the option to prioritise certain tasks. The driver will work through the list checking them off as they go. There’s no more forgotten plot numbers, no more forgotten requests, no more searching around to see if the delivery has arrived without you knowing. Just send your request and you’ll get a notification when it’s complete.

  • MANAGE PRODUCTIVITY - There are hundreds of sites around the country that have more than one telehandler and operator. OPPO will allow all telehandler operators for each site to work through the same list of tasks and at the same time collect data allowing you to assess productivity and give accurate insight to whether multiple telehandlers are required.

  • REMOTE ACCESS TO SITE MAPS & DRAWINGS - OPPO provides a storage system for site maps and pdf files so that trades can access them remotely at any time, taking a lot of the day to day duties off the site team’s busy workload. Not to mention the reduction in printed documents. So we’re saving money, reducing the workload and reducing our carbon footprint. Win win win.

  • IMPROVE HEALTH & SAFETY - Construction is one of the most dangerous industries to work in and the HSE website has a section dedicated to telehandler safety on site which states…

By LAW you must organise your site so that you segregate pedestrians and telescopic handlers (telehandlers).”

On every site induction around the country one of the first points is “Do not leave the pedestrian walkways!” But the induction never tells you how to request materials from a telehandler without approaching them on the road.

In our experience, telehandlers will usually continue driving while you walk alongside, quickly trying to shout what materials you need or they will continue lifting their load up to the loading bay while you pray it doesn’t fall on you below. Also it doesn’t mean that other vehicles approaching will be aware that you are on the road. Construction sites are busy, loud places with large machines with many blind spots using the roads, a person standing next to a telehandler can be very easy to miss.

On large construction sites it can be impossible to find the telehandler and there aren't always walkways where the telehandler drives. This results in pedestrians walking on roads or even going “cross country” to try to request materials from the telehandler. This comes with the obvious risks and is also breaking the aforementioned law. But it also means that pedestrians are aimlessly walking around site wasting time and are at unnecessary risk of other potential hazards including trips and falls or being struck by falling objects from scaffold above. With OPPO you don’t have to leave your place of work to request materials and it can be done in as little as 15 seconds, removing the issue of excess pedestrians around site. A site telehandler can receive around 100 requests per day for materials, that’s 100 potentially dangerous situations that can be avoided each day using OPPO.

These are just some of the benefits and there are more exciting features already in the pipeline.

If  your company makes Health & Safety a number one priority then Site Oppo is for you.
